Premier League side Everton FC played a 2-2 draw with La Liga side Sevilla in final pre-season game ahead of the forthcoming season.
New signing Sandro Ramirez grabbed his first ever Everton goal as he scored in less than a minute at Goodison Park. The former Malaga man rounded up the Sevilla keeper David Soria before scoring the opener.
The score line remained the same all through the first half but Ever Banega grabbed a brace in four minutes as the Spanish side toppled Everton over. Banega banged in the goals by beating new addition to the Toffees team Jordan Pickford before scoring from the penalty spot minutes later after Gareth Barry fouled Nolito.
Ronald Koeman would be happy that the team was able to dip in deep to get a draw. Kevin Mirallas scored from the spot with ten minutes to play to make it a deserved 2-2draw.
New boys Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion also played games ahead of their league openers this weekend. Brighton lost 3-2 to Atletico Madrid at the Amex Stadim that had over 30,000 fans cheering on.
Atletico’s Nicolas Gaitan scored the opener in the 43rd minute as he beat keeper Matthew Ryan. Pascal Gross equalized as his free kick was deflected in, after the interval. Former Liverpool and Chelsea striker Fernando Torres gave the La Liga giants the lead again when he scored minutes later. Steve Sidwell levelled proceedings again with a header. Antoine Griezmann made a decent attempt late in the game that Ryan parried onto Lucas Hernandez’s path for the third for Diego Simeone’s side.
Unlike the Seagulls, the Magpies won their game as they defeated Serie A side Hellas Verona 2-0. Ayoze Perez and JonjoShelvey were on target at St James Park.
