Everton manager wants permanent deals for Zouma and Andre Gomes
Everton manager Marco Silva has confirmed that he wants permanent deals for Kurt Zouma and Andre Gomes when the season comes to a close. Zouma and Gomes joined the Toffees on season-long loan deals from Chelsea and Barcelona respectively, and they have since been integral to the manager’s plans in the Premier League.
Speaking in a press conference, Silva indicated that he is pleased with the performances of the duo during the ongoing campaign and he would entertain the prospect of permanent deals for the pairing. However, he added that the ultimate decision would depend on the parent sides and the Toffees remain optimistic of sealing permanent moves for both Zouma and Gomes.
He said: “There’s always a chance. They are happy here, which is a good sign. That means they are performing, they are enjoying it and they are helping the team also. It’s up to the clubs also. It’s in the players’ minds also and they have to decide together with their own clubs. In the right moment we will do something.”
“Gomes has been a solid figure at the heart of the club’s midfield alongside Idrissa Gueye and this has already made him a fan favourite“. Likewise, Zouma has been the regular choice to partner Michael Keane in the central defensive role and he most-recently “featured for the Toffees“ during the 1-0 triumph over Arsenal at Goodison Park.
At the moment, the Toffees are one point behind the seventh position on the table and they are aware that they have plenty of work to do, given the tricky schedule before the end of the season. The Toffees have fared excellently against Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea over the past month but they still have to encounter Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur before the campaign concludes next month. Everton face Fulham on the road this weekend.
