Coleman Heralds Impact Of Martinez

Everton defender Seamus Coleman, who was named in the PFA team of the year for last campaign, has heralded the impact of manager Roberto Martinez. Everton looked to have reached their potential – for the budget they have – under David Moyes and it was feared that the club would slip from the high standards when the Scot left the club last summer in order to join Manchester United. Roberto Martinez came to the club after having just experienced a relegation with Wigan, but he has managed to take the club to even greater heights.

PEPE BACKS REAL

Portuguese defender Pepe has praised Real Madrid after the club reached the Champions League final for the first time in 12 years. The club is regarded as one of the most prestigious in the world after having won the European cup a record nine times. However, they have been unable to progress past the semifinals in the last three seasons.

Team:

SIX NEW PLAYERS

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that he wants at least six new players at the club next season in order to target Champions League qualification.

Everton are most likely to be involved in the Europa league next season, which will put a huge strain on the resources at the club. Martinez has done wonders with the Everton team this campaign. They have not only played an attractive style of football, but they also still in contention for a top four spot with six matches remaining.

LIVERPOOL SITTING PRETTY

With 10 matches remaining until the end of the Premier League, Liverpool is sitting in 2nd place alongside Arsenal as they both share 59 points and are looking very likely on securing a Champions League qualification spot for the upcoming season.

The managing director of Liverpool, Ian Ayre revealed some of the plans he has which will help the club on fighting against the best clubs in the world in the Champions League and hopefully get back in track on securing the silverware they haven’t won since 2005.

EVERTON RIDE HIGH

Everton have done exceedingly well this season. Even though they bid to finish in the top four has been faltering in recent weeks after successive defeats against top teams like Chelsea, they still remain in contention for at least a Europa league spot.

Team:

HUGE BLOW

Everton's hopes of finishing in the top four took a huge blow after they were defeated by their rivals for this position – Tottenham – at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Everton close in on attacking

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed the club are close to agreeing a deal to sign Lacina Traore from Monaco on a loan deal until the end of the season, with the club hoping to be granted a work permit for the Ivory Coast international. Traore only joined Monaco from Anzhi Makhachkala at the beginning of January, but is set to move to the Premier League in order to gain experience.

SUCCESS AT LAST

Everton has been enjoying a successful league campaign so far as they are on the top 5 spots of the Premier League even ahead of teams like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. The head coach Roberto Martinez wants to keep the momentum and positive results rolling on with new arrivals.

The club is already linked with the winger of Spartak Moscow Aiden McGeady who has had problems and feuds with the Russian club and now is uncertain if he will be finishing his time with Spartak when the contract expires in the summer or if he makes a move away from the club in January.

Baines eyes early return

Everton defender Leighton Baines has not given up hope of being fit enough to play some part in the hectic festive schedule.

The 29-year-old former Wigan Athletic left-back has been sidelined since last month’s 3-3 draw with Liverpool when he broke a toe.

At the time, Everton boss Roberto Martinez predicted that he would be without Baines’ services for six weeks but the player has targeted an earlier return to action.

Team:

BARKLEY EVER PRESENT

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has been an ever present for the club this season. He has started in all the Premier league matches, while also helping the club move closer to the top four.

It has been a great start for Everton under Roberto Martinez, as they are sixth in the table after nine matches in the season. They have lost just one match this season, and Barkley has been an integral part of everything good that by the club so far. Due to the constant football, there is a danger of Barkley suffering from tiredness in the second half of the campaign.
