BRAZIL INTEENATIONAL PAQUETA ON EVERTON RADAR

Team:

Premier League side Everton are reportedly keen on signing Lyon midfielder Lucas Paqueta before the end of this summer's transfer window. This is according to the report from Italian publication Calciomercato which stated the 24-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for the Toffees. Everton might need to pay as much as £50m to secure the signing of Paqueta who was linked with other Premier League teams earlier in the current transfer window. The Brazilian star was linked with Arsenal and Newcastle United earlier in this transfer window.

Merseyside giants Everton have had issues on the financial front this summer and they were forced to sell one of their best players. Attacking talent Richarlison moved from Everton to fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in a £60m deal a few weeks. Richarlison and Paqueta are colleagues in the Brazil senior national team setup.
Everton have not been active in the current transfer window, but that might be about to change in the final few weeks of the window. They had signed centre back James Tarkowski on a free transfer after his contract with Burnley expired at the end of June. England international Tarkowski is set to be joined by Portuguese fullback Ruben Vinagre. The ex-Wolves player is closing in on a loan move to Everton from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon. After the signing of Vinagre, Everton officials can turn their attention to attack.

French giants Lyon are prepared to sell Paqueta this summer, but it will only be for the right price which has been stated earlier. He has spent two years with Lyon on the back of his transfer from Italian Serie A outfit AC Milan.
Everton will have to move fast if they want to secure the transfer of Paqueta this summer as their financial crisis is common knowledge. Clubs interested in Paqueta such as Arsenal and Newcastle United are financially more buoyant than the Toffees.
